How to Block Spam Calls on Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra phone?

The popularity of the features available on the Samsung Galaxy S22 has created a craze for the mobile phone. People feel proud to own such an android phone. No matter which model is possessed, keeping control of spam calls is a big headache many users face. Spam calls are nothing but unwanted phone calls. Sometimes it becomes necessary to avoid such spam calls because the person calling may be a fraudster trying to collect all the information from the user and use it against him/her. So it is better to avoid such unknown calls and prevent self from being cheated. Sometimes, some of the calls from marketing agencies are also categorized as spam calls. Samsung Galaxy S22 has the feature of blocking spam calls. There are three methods of blocking the spam call – blocking the phone number, automatic blocking, and blocking through smart calls. In this article, the steps to implement all these methods are described briefly.

Blocking a phone number to block a spam call:

Every mobile user will be issued an independent and unique phone number. This helps in tracking the user sometimes. The phone number will be very useful even while blocking the spam call.

The steps to block the spam calls are as follows:

1. Switch on the mobile phone.
2. Go to the main screen and select the phone icon in the menu.
3. Once the phone is clicked, a screen with a number pad and three options, namely- keypad, recent, and contacts, will appear. Now go to the top screen (right corner). Three dots placed vertically will be displayed. Click on those three dots. A small screen will appear stating the option.

1. Click on the Settings option.
2. A screen showing the menu for call settings will appear.
3. Observe properly and choose the block number option.
4. A new screen will appear. The screen will ask for permission to block a phone number. The option should be changed to on status. Now the phone number to be blocked needs to be fed in the area provided on the screen. If the phone number is known, it can be directly fed. But in case the number is unknown to the user, the user can trace the phone number from the recent calls option or the contact list. The recent calls option lists all the calls received recently- known and unknown. A contact list will have a complete list of all the known people. So, when any of these – recent contact is tapped, a list of all the calls or contacts will appear on the screen. So the user has the facility to choose from all unwanted phone numbers.

1. After choosing phone numbers to be blocked, the done option available at the bottom of the screen should be pressed.
2. This completes the blockage of spam calls through phone numbers.

Automatic blocking of the spam calls:

The following are the steps to block the spam calls automatically.

1. Switch on the mobile phone.
2. Go to the main screen. Select the phone app available in the menu.
3. Once the phone app is selected, tap on the three dots placed vertically on top of the screen (right corner). This will give a list of options.
4. Select settings options from the list.
5. A screen related to call settings will appear in that, select block numbers.
6. Once the block numbers option is selected, the screen will ask whether all unknown or private numbers should be blocked.
7. Set the option to on mode.
8. So, the unknown or private number gets blocked when a call is received from the phone number.

Blocking through smart call facility on Samsung galaxy S22:

Normally, the contact list will have the phone numbers of known people. There is an app called the smart call app that recognizes the user’s name, checks the phone number in the contact list, and informs the user if the phone number is not listed in the contact list. The smart app option should always be in on mode. Only when the smart app is in on mode it will be able to analyze the call received from an unknown or private number. So whenever the smart app issues an alert, the unknown number can be blocked immediately.

The steps to be followed for blocking spam calls are as follows:

1. Switch on the mobile phone.
2. Go to the main screen. Select the phone app available in the menu.
3. Once the phone app is selected, tap on the three dots placed vertically on top of the screen (right corner). This will give a list of options.
4. Select settings options from the list.
5. A screen related to call settings will select caller id and spam protection.
6. Now change the switch to on mode. This is sufficient for the app to work efficiently.
